AI agents for compliance: Delve's $32M Series A and the agent-first GRC wave
Compliance-automation startup Delve announced a $32 million Series A on 22 July 2025, led by Insight Partners, with participation from Y Combinator, General Catalyst, FundersClub, and CISOs at several Fortune 500 companies. The round — one of the clearest signals yet of investor appetite for "agentic AI" in the compliance category — followed $3.3 million the company raised in 2024 (PR Newswire).
What Delve does
Founded in 2023 by MIT AI researchers Karun Kaushik (CEO) and Selin Kocalar (COO), Delve builds AI agents aimed at the labor-intensive parts of compliance work — evidence collection, documentation tracking, and the screenshotting and cross-checking that historically consumed founder and engineering time during a SOC 2 or similar audit. The company reports serving 500+ customers, including AI startups Lovable, Bland, and Wispr Flow. Delve's own announcement describes the round as valuing the company at $300 million — a figure the company has stated itself rather than one disclosed in the funding press release, so it should be read as company-reported.
Part of a broader wave
Delve isn't alone. Days later, on 1 August 2025, newer entrant Comp AI announced a $2.6 million pre-seed co-led by OSS Capital and Grand Ventures, also targeting the SOC 2 market with an AI-native approach. Together, the two rounds point to a real shift in investor thinking: compliance automation is moving from static, workflow-and-questionnaire tooling toward platforms that use AI agents to do more of the evidence-gathering and audit-prep work directly.
For buyers evaluating compliance platforms today, the practical takeaway is that "AI-native" is now a real category, not just a feature checkbox on incumbent tools — and it's attracting serious capital. Whether agent-first platforms can match the audit-grade rigor of established players over a full certification cycle is the open question the next year of the market will answer.
